Cowboy’s new Wear OS application shows that you can also make an electric bike connected in a different way, without having to touch your Android smartphone.
The Cowboy connected electric bike brand has built a solid reputation over the years. It is also taking advantage of the fall of Vanmoof, to which it is responding with a number of new products: AdaptivePower mode, Cruiser model, range with affordable Core chain version or even Google Maps.
To keep the brand hyperactive, here is yet another development for users, a new Cowboy application. After the classics on Apple and Android smartphones and the Apple Watch, it’s the turn of Google Wear OS connected watches (formerly Android Wear).
An app for premium versions of Cowboy electric bikes
The main screen of the application under Wear OS is as simple as the other versions of the application, with a lot of information available on the wrist at a glance: current mileage, trip duration, remaining battery life or even heartbeat. It is still possible to turn on the headlights, change modes or lock the e-bike once parked. Like the first version of the Cowboy app that we tested in 2019.
As with the Apple Watch app, this Wear OS version is only compatible with the “Connect” versions of the Cowboy, which are more high-end and expensive. These variants also have additional smartphone features, such as predictive alerts, trip statistics and the social fitness platform.
Good to know: the Cowboy app is only compatible with Wear OS versions 3 or later.
