Cowboy hat: This is how we style the it piece in autumn

Already on guard? If not, then it is high time. Because the underestimated headgear is making its fashion comeback in an extra-cool version this autumn. We tell you how fashionistas wear the trend cowboy hat NOW.

We think: The hat is neglected in terms of styling, it is a real all-purpose weapon: it hides bad hair days, protects against wind and weather and looks mega. When used correctly, a hat has the power to completely change your look, especially in its current version: The trend piece is celebrating its fashionable resurrection this autumn in a western style. Howdy!

Explains the trend

The current felt hats come in a classic fedora shape. Means: The hat has a wide brim and is bent down along the crown. The decorations in western look are new. The classic Fedora gets a fashionable update through embellishments such as bullet holes, wear and tear, artificial burn marks and decorative ribbons. Courage to color is also allowed: in autumn 2020 we will no longer wear our hats only in brown, but also in pastel shades.

How to wear the cowboy trend:

Noble

Influencer and designer Aylin Koenig combines the biggest fashion trends of 2020 in this outfit: all-white, oversize silhouette, layering of jewelry and, on top, the upcoming it-piece cowboy hat. The noble look of silk shirt, palazzo pants and high shoes gets a touch of nonchalance from the headgear and does not make the style appear too formal overall. We particularly like the warm taupe tone, which blends in harmoniously with the rest of the outfit.

In the autumn

The fashionistas Alex Seifert and Nina Wrodnigg show how we can style the cowboy hat on cool days: elegant with a timeless trench coat, the Fedora looks very classic and immediately makes us think of Hollywood icons à la Marlene Dietrich and Humphrey Bogart. Modern accessories such as patent leather boots and pouch bags bring the look back to 2020.

At least as beautiful to look at is the break in style consisting of a masculine hat and a girlish knitted cardigan with filigree jewelry. Chapeau!

Casual

Blogger Franziska Albrecht was also on guard. With her casual outfit of blue jeans, blazers and sneakers, she provides us with cool inspiration on how we can style the fashionable hat statement casually. The cream-colored fedora blends in harmoniously with the overall look and doesn't look a bit too much. Perfect for anyone who wants to carefully approach the trend first.

In color

Do you need proof that the cowboy hat really fits EVERYTHING? Instead of casual street style, blogger Karin Teigl likes BÄM looks like this combination of a yellow two-piece suit, bustier top and cowboy hat in green. This outfit exudes the ultimate summer vibes. We are in love.

To the dress

We take our hat off to this look: fashion darling Nina Schwichtenberg shows how we can wear the trendy headgear on hot days. The western hat forms a cool contrast to the girlish lace dress and provides that certain something. The icing on the cake: thanks to the cowboy look, we are safe from the blazing sun.

In a partner look

Inluencer Nuriel Molcho and his wife Audrey prove that the trend is not just for female fashion fans. The two take the western look to the extreme with hats from their own label Nomade Moderne. In the used look including bullet holes, the hats of the two are very trendy. And there is one more thing the two of them are doing right: Instead of adding gas to the rest of the outfit, the couple opt for a simple look in muted colors.
