Cozero boss Tacke: We have to get out of greenwashing

The purchase of CO2 certificates works like a modern sale of indulgences. You simply transfer X sum and it already looks as if you have reduced emissions. “We have to get out of there,” says cozero-CEO Helen Tacke. She is concerned with “real savings that I have delivered in my product or my service,” adds the founder in the ntv podcast “So techt Germany”.

It is becoming increasingly important for companies to know about their own carbon footprint. Not dealing with the topic and ensuring the lowest possible CO2 production is no longer an option. But many companies don’t even know how much CO2 they actually release. This is where Helen Tacke comes in with her startup. Among other things, Cozero offers software on its platform that uses a large amount of data to analyze a company’s entire value chain and determine precise emissions figures. “Especially companies from the logistics industry, which actually have so many data points and can show transparency, are increasingly being forced to show this,” explains Tacke.

In the new episode of “So techt Deutschland”, Helen Tacke explains where Germany is already good in this area and where more needs to be done.
