CPF: the government launches France Connect+ to prevent scams

Since October 25, 2022, the government has imposed the use of France Connect+ to connect to the Personal Training Account. This is a more secure version of France Connect, offering enhanced authentication via the Post’s digital identity.

With a amount of CPF fraud estimated at 43.2 million euros in 2021 according to Tracfin, the French intelligence service in charge of the fight against clandestine financial circuits, the government is determined to multiply the measures to put an end to scams on the Personal Training Account.

In August 2022, the government proposed a law to kill cold calling fraud around the CPF. This measure was based on two key principles: the outright ban on canvassing in connection with the CPF, and enhanced monitoring of fraud through increased collaboration between Caisse des Dépôts, France Competence and State services.

And since October 25, 2022, the Ministry of Transformation and Public Service has announced the establishment of France Connect+ to secure the purchase of training on the My Training Account platform. But what is France Connect +? This is a reinforced version of France Connect developed by the DINUM, the Interministerial Directorate for Digital.

With France Connect+, the executive wants to reinforce the security of users during access to certain sensitive procedures such as opening a bank account, accessing a medical file, receiving electronic registered letters or in the case that interests us here, subscription to training on My Training Account.

France Connect+, the solution to fight against CPF fraud

To do this, France Connect+ adds an additional layer of security by requiring two-factor authentication. But be careful, it is imperative to have created your La Poste Digital Identity beforehand to use France Connect.

This tool allows access more than 1,000 online services via France Connect and La Poste with a single secure identifier. A system that has the merit of being simple, fast and secure since it puts an end to the headache of dozens and dozens of different accounts and passwords to manage. To do this, Digital Identity is based on the unique combination of your username, your mobile application and your secret code.

In addition, the La Poste Digital Identity offers a reinforced protection against identity theft, since a notification is sent to your smartphone each time you connect to one of the 1000 compatible services. If in doubt, it is possible to block the remote connection. “Once your digital identity has been created and activated, you can also use it to complete more than 1,400 other online formalities”, explains the government on its official website. As a reminder, France Identity has just landed in beta on the iPhone. This service allows you to store your identity card in digital format on your iPhone.
