Craftsmanship sets its priorities for the presidential election


The changing sector is asking for the maintenance of apprenticeship aid, a reform of inheritance rights and a modernization fund.

A major sector in the French economy, generating more than 300 billion euros in turnover, craftsmanship had a record year in 2021, with the creation of 90,000 new structures, to reach today some 1, 8 million businesses. The sector is also changing, due to the expectations of French people who are increasingly demanding quality products, made in France, and who are in favor of local service. A trend that the health crisis has accelerated, a complicated period during which professionals have however managed to hold their own.

If during this period 62.7% of craftsmen continued their activity without change, according to a study carried out by Qualitest for CMA France, with more than 4,105 people, 28.2% of companies managed their activity differently. This amounts to saying that some craftsmen, beyond their know-how, have reviewed their positioning with different supplies…
