Crashed over an embankment – Serious carriage accident left ten people injured

A carriage ride ended on Saturday in the Zillertal in Tyrol for ten people in the hospital. The vehicle, which was traveling on a cycle path, overturned and fell over an embankment. Two children were even seriously injured.

The accident happened on Saturday around 11 a.m. in the community of Fügen. According to initial information, police said there were apparently problems with the pulley. The coachman wanted to fix this and dismounted to do so. “The two horses must have pulled the carriage further and it then tipped over an embankment,” explains a spokesman for the Tyrolean police. Small children were also among the injured. Six adults, two school children and two small children – all holidaymakers from Germany – were injured. “A ten-year-old and a twelve-year-old child even suffered serious injuries,” explains the executive. Among others, the Fügen and Schlitters fire departments, two police patrols, two emergency medical helicopters and the rescue team were on site.
