For its fiscal year (April 2021 to March 2022) that ended, The Pokémon Company exploded the counters. With a turnover of 1.6 billion dollars (+ 70.4%) and net profits of 322 million dollars (+ 123%), the company is having a record year as highlighted by the consultant Dr Serkan Toto.
These oh so positive results are to be put down to the sales of the latest games. Namely Pokémon Legends Arceus (12.64 million), New Pokémon Snap (2.40 million) & Sparkling Diamond/Sparkling Pearl (14.65 million). But that’s not all.
Sword & Shield sold an additional 3.18 million copies for a total of 24.27 million. As for Let’s Go Pikachu / Eevee, 1.24 million additional copies have found takers for a game that culminates in 14.53 million units sold.
Despite the Pokémon Go hype which has come down, the title continues to attract people. Players who are ready to make in-app purchases, thus contributing to the success of the Japanese firm. The success of these little collectible beasts should continue again and again over the years.
