PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–The Energy Regulation Commission (CRE) on Wednesday proposed an increase in regulated electricity sales tariffs of 3.89% including tax in France compared to the tariffs currently in force. This change will apply from August 1, added the authority responsible for proposing price changes to the government.

Even added to the 4% increase including tax made on February 1, 2022, CRE specifies that this increase remains “moderate” compared to its proposal for a 35% increase including tax made last January.

CRE recalled that the government retains the possibility of opposing its proposals as soon as these exceed the tariffs applicable on December 31, 2021 by more than 4%. “Therefore, it can set new tariffs at a level lower or even refuse the development proposed by the CRE”, specified the authority.
