The forests vouchers, which were sold for the first time in October 2016, also prove that purchasing power in the Bregenzerwald is a relevant factor. Since then, 6.6 million euros have been converted into “Wauld” in this way. “Money that will be preserved in our value chain – and that in the past probably went elsewhere,” explains Lukas Schrott, managing director of the Bregenzerwald region. Last year alone, vouchers worth 1.7 million euros were issued. What is new is that the tickets can now also be redeemed in the Art & Culture sector, including in the old Andelsbuch train station or in the Hittisau Women’s Museum.
