Crédit Agricole: creation of Bluevia Fibra with Telefónica


(CercleFinance.com) – The Telefónica group and the consortium, Crédit Agricole Assurances (CAA) and Vauban Infrastructure Partners have reached an agreement for the creation of Bluevia Fibra platform dedicated to the marketing and deployment of a fiber network (FTTH) in Spain mainly in rural areas.

CAA/Vauban will invest a total of €1,021 million, valuing 100% of Bluevia at €2,500 million. Following the transaction, Telefónica Group will retain 55% of the capital of Bluevia. The CAA/Vauban consortium will hold the remaining 45%.

Bluevia will operate and deploy a fiber network in the less populated rural areas of Spain with low overlap with the fiber networks of other operators. Bluevia will expand its network to cover up to 5 million homes and businesses by 2024.
