[Article mis à jour le 21/03/2024 à 15h52] This midday, many Crédit Agricole customers were no longer able to access their online accounts. A new major technical or security incident that has shaken the bank.

Once again, Crédit Agricole is shaken by a technical incident. This Thursday, March 21, 2024, for a little over two hours, testimonies flooded into social networks and alert sites, reporting an inability to connect to the Crédit Agricole application. Several thousand customers were affected by this major outage, which follows the cyberattack already suffered by the establishment last February.

A new major breakdown for Crédit Agricole

Unable to access my account via the application and via the site » ; “ I can’t log in » ; “ The Crédit Agricole app is broken, what is that? » ; “ Unable to connect to my account on smartphone app and computer “.

There have been multiple reports in recent hours. Many Internet users explained that they did not have access to the Crédit Agricole banking application, whether from a phone or from a computer. A ” Technical problem » was mentioned, without further details at this stage. By mid-afternoon, no hypothesis had been put forward.

The incident was not without consequences, since some customers saw their payments refused due to lack of access to the application. The bank remained, even on Thursday afternoon, surprisingly silent. As for the nature of the problem, no known cybercriminal group has, for the moment, claimed responsibility for any computer attack. It could therefore be that the establishment is “simply” the subject of a major technical incident.

The establishment is not spared from incidents

The incident coincides with the implementation of a more secure bank withdrawal system. From now on, when you need cash, you must enter your bank card code twice, if you want to recover more than 50 euros.

Clearly, banking establishments have not been spared from major incidents in recent years. After the cyberattack that occurred last February, the BNP Paribas group was also affected by a major IT failure at the beginning of March, and before it the companies Caisse d’Épargne and Banque Populaire.

Tens of thousands of customers were then prevented from withdrawing their money or paying using their bank card.
