The Creff formula: Three different types of figures 

Depending on what type of figure you are, this affects the exact formula that you can use to calculate your weight. The creff formula distinguishes three categories of body shapes:

  • People of average physique 
  • Rather broadly built people with heavy bones 
  • People with a petite physique 

So get the calculator, notepad and pen out and calculate your ideal weight with one of the following formulas. 

Creff formula for people of average stature 

The formula for average physique looks like this: 

[(Height in cm – 100) + (age / 10)] x 0.9 

An example: You are 1.65 m tall and 30 years old. Your formula: [(165-100) + (30/10)] x 0.9 = 61.2 kilograms is your ideal weight. 

Creff formula for broader people with heavy bones 

For persons with strong stature, which are built a bit more stable, the following variant of the formula applies: 

[(Height in cm – 100) + (age / 10)] x 0.9 x 1.1 

An example: You are 1.65 m tall and 30 years old. Your bill: [(165-100) + (30/10)] x 0.9 x 1.1, = 67.32 kilograms is your ideal weight. 

Creff formula for people with a petite physique 

If you are rather petite and slim, this calculation is the right one for you: 

[(Height in cm – 100) + (age / 10)] x 0.9 x 0.9 

An example: You are 1.65 m tall and 30 years old. Your formula: [(165-100) + (30/10)] x 0.9 x 0.9 = 55.08 kilograms is your ideal weight. 

The creff formula: a conclusion 

And so simple and uncomplicated, whether normal, wide or daintily built, you calculate with one of the three formulas your personal ideal weight. But beware: weight fluctuations of two to three kilos are absolutely normal. So do not go crazy with losing weight and dieting. Cycle-related or stressful, you may like to have a few kilos more or less on the scales. Do not depend on the number provided by the creff formula.
