Who and what is behind Mr. Muster, Mrs. Mann and the dog banana in the Münster crime thriller “Tatort: Propheteus”? The answers are here.
In “Tatort: Propheteus” (6.3.) there are a lot of possible extraterrestrials. One of them is the small white and black Parson Russell Terrier Banana. But also the two constitutional protection specialists Ms. Mann (Daniela Reichert, born 1987, “Babylon Berlin”) and Mr. Muster (Melanie Reichert, born 1987, “Babylon Berlin”), the chief commissioner Thiel (Axel Prahl, 61) and forensic pathologist Adjusting Prof. Boerne (Jan Josef Liefers, 57) are ominous.
spot on news asked screenwriter Astrid Ströher (born 1971) and director Sven Halfar (born 1972) what is behind the three characters. “Certainly also the joy of playing with pop and film culture references,” says Ströher when asked. Then she says with a laugh: “But Muster and Mann as well as Hund Banane just appeared when I was writing, they sort of forced themselves on me and then developed a very strong life of their own. Where exactly the three come from – even I don’t know.”

Director Halfar explains how the styling with the suits and unusual hairstyles of the actor twins came about: “The suits were already planned by Astrid in the script. I think her style is great, and who pretends like someone who works for the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, has to look like”. As to whether he was able to remain serious in view of the two in their roles during the filming, he says: “Basically, I have a lot of fun with my work. That’s why it was all the nicer to stage two such interesting characters as Muster and Mann.”
Whether the two and the terrier, the according to “picture” in real life Fiete is called and is ten years old, are now extraterrestrials, “everyone can answer this question for themselves,” says author Ströher of the news agency. Incidentally, there is a good reason why this dog was chosen for the filming. “I would have liked to have had a Chinese crested dog, but in the end I chose the terrier. The dog plays a major role in the film. He had to be able to do a lot and in the end he convinced us all,” says director Halfar.
The author and the director wish the viewers: “They should just watch the film, ideally have a lot of fun and make up their own minds…”
