In the "Tatort: The Death of Others" inspector Schenk is kidnapped by the suspicious hotel owner. How do you know the actress?

In "Tatort: The Death of Others", Cologne inspectors Max Ballauf (Klaus J. Behrend, 60) and Freddy Schenk (Dietmar Bär, 59) investigate the death of a 60-year-old who was found hanged in a hotel. The hotel owner Bettina Mai quickly became one of the suspects. This is embodied in a great way by actress Ulrike Krumbiegel (59, "The Beginner"), who should appear familiar to die-hard "Tatort" viewers.

From the theater to television

Ulrike Krumbiegel was born in East Berlin in 1961. At the age of 15, she performed with an amateur group at the Volksbühne in Berlin before she attended the famous "Ernst Busch" drama school in Berlin. Various stage engagements followed: She was on stage at the Deutsches Theater Berlin, in the Berliner Ensemble and at the Münchner Kammerspiele.

Even during the GDR era, Krumbiegel made a few appearances in film and television productions. This did not change after the fall of the Wall: For example, she was seen in films such as "Der Erdnußmann" (1992) or "In the Name of Innocence" (1997). For her performance in the drama "Gender: Female" (2003), in which she played a woman suffering from breast cancer, she was awarded the German TV Prize.

A familiar face from the "Tatort" series

Ulrike Krumbiegel became known to a wide audience through her role in the ARD series "Bloch". From 2002 to 2013 she played the role of Clara Born, the partner of the eponymous psychotherapist Dr. Maximilian Bloch (Dieter Pfaff, 1947-2013). "Tatort: The Death of Others" is already the 15th Sunday crime Krumbiegel in which she played. In 2006, for example, in "Tatort: Out of combat" from Munich, she slipped into the role of geriatric nurse Inge Kehrer, whose friend is said to have killed some people.

In the case of "Summ, Summ, Summ" from Münster in 2013, she was seen as the manager of Roman König – played by pop singer Roland Kaiser (68). For her role in "Polizeiruf 110: Jenseits" (2006), in which she plays a mother whose son was killed by her ex-husband, she even received the Golden Camera for best actress. She also appears in other crime series such as "Bella Block", "A strong team", "Der Alte" and "SOKO Munich".
