“Criminal Minds: Evolution” will continue! Even before the start of the 17th season, Paramount+ has confirmed an 18th season of the cult series. This is what is known so far.

Even before the 17th season of “Criminal Minds” had even started, Paramount+ renewed the popular crime series for another episode. This would be the third season since the unexpected continuation of the series, which actually came to an official end in 2020 with season 15. Since then, the series has been called “Evolution”.
Of course, there is not much to say about season 3/season 18 yet, as we first have to wait and see what happens in season 2/season 17. In “Criminal Minds: Evolution” so far, Paget Brewster as Emily Prentiss, Joe Mantegna as David Rossi, AJ Cook as JJ Jareau, Kirsten Vangsness as Penelope Garcia, Aisha Tyler as Dr. Tara Lewis and Adam Rodriguez as Luke Alvez played the BAU team. They had to take action against Elias Voit (played by Zach Gilford), who built up an entire network of serial killers during the Covid pandemic.
Season 2 picks up with a two-week time jump and the team continues to have to deal with Voit. Brewster, Mantegna, Cook, Vangsness, Tyler and Rodriguez return to the series for season 2. We also see Felicity Huffman (“Desperate Housewives”) as Jason Gideon’s ex-wife.

There was almost exactly a year between the release of season 16 and season 17. Therefore, we expect season 18 to be released on Paramount+ in the US in summer 2025.
