Announced for a while already, but still not released, the reboot of Criminal Minds is not buried for all that. The project is still in development at Paramount+.

The Criminal Minds reboot is still on track at Paramount+. This is despite comments last summer from Paget Brewster – one of the stars of the original series – that the project was buried by the platform. The one who played Emily Prentiss on the show for nearly 200 episodes, said the reboot was “unlikely“. But that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Nicole Clemens, head of the original series department at Paramount+, told Deadline : “We are still in development on Criminal Minds. We’ll have more to share on that soon, but it’s ongoing and moving forward.

In charge of Paramount+ original series, in addition to the Paramount Television Studios branch, Nicole Clemens explained that the delay in production of the reboot was due to the company’s executive reshuffle and therefore would have nothing to do with the project itself. .

In February 2021, we learned of the revival of Criminal Minds which lasted 15 seasons on CBS. What changes this time is that the team will come together for a single investigation, the resolution of which will run over 10 episodes.

The series enjoyed new success on Netflix in the United States, which is broadcasting the first 12 seasons, thus becoming the third most streamed series in 2020 on the American platform behind The Office and Grey’s Anatomy, with 590 million hours viewed.

Paramount+ does not provide any casting information at this time. Over the 15 seasons, cast members have included Mandy Patinkin, Shemar Moore, Joe Mantegna, Aisha Tyler, Matthew Gray Gubler, Thomas Gibson, Lola Glaudini, Adam Rodriguez, AJ Cook, and Paget Brewster, among others. It remains to be seen who will be back.
