Exploration, boss fights, street duels… Crimson Quest, the new adventure game straight from South Korea, is revealed in a long gameplay video that gives us a real overview of the kingdom of Pywel.

The Ballad of Kliff

Revealed several years ago, the Crimson Desert project is seriously starting to take shape. After being approached for the first time at Gamescom last August, the game from Pearl Abyss has just revealed itself further in a long gameplay video shared exclusively by IGN. The software is thus presented in more detail by emphasizing its hybrid formula which mixes adventure mechanics inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild And Tears of the Kingdomthus over-the-top action with gameplay that resembles games like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

But more than that, this video emphasizes the scale of this open world of the kingdom of Pywel in which Kliff, our protagonist, evolves. From a camp devastated by flames to a city nestled on top of a hill to an enemy camp: our hero travels the world on foot, on horseback or using magic to fly over his environment.

A promising adventure

More than any other aspect, it is certainly the freedom and interactivity offered by this adventure that dominate in this long video. If Pywel seems particularly vast, we also see that the game is appreciated on a much smaller scale, where Kliff can visibly interact with most of the NPCs and thus begin a quest during his journey. Free in his movements and interactions, the player is also free in his approaches and can for example modify his equipment easily by pressing a button. There is therefore plenty to be interested in Crimson Desert, a software that seems to want to abandon all safeguards and offer players total freedom. That being said, we will have to wait a little longer before being able to get our hands on this software which does not yet have a release date.
