Criticism of jury – double murderer (52) blames women

Gottfried O. shot two women and was sentenced to life imprisonment at the end of July. Now he’s whining to the Supreme Court that “too many women” served on the jury. Vain. The Supreme Court upheld the guilty verdict of double murder.

Apparently Gottfried O. (52) still doesn’t feel guilty. His remarks in the nullity appeal to the Supreme Court are no different: almost eight months after being sentenced to life imprisonment for two murders, the man from Salzburg still speaks of a “violent emotional state” and an “emotional overload” that made him bloodthirsty As a reminder: O. appeared on May 5, 2021, shortly before midnight, at the home of his “ex”, a Walser woman (50). He pulled out his gun, first shot the woman’s mother (76) with three shots and then aimed the gun at the 50-year-old. He pulled the trigger seven times. First in the back, then in the head. An “execution by an injured narcissist,” summed up the victim’s lawyer at the end of July. Condemned evidently felt disadvantaged as a man. All eight jurors agreed at the time: guilty of double murder – life imprisonment including instruction. O., on the other hand, now complains that the question of manslaughter was not asked. The detective criticizes the composition of the jury box and feels disadvantaged because of the proportion of women: seven of the eight lay judges were female immediately brushed the appeal off the table. Means: The guilty verdict is final. The Higher Regional Court of Linz still has to decide on the amount of the fine. O. will probably ask for leniency here.
