Hot or not? When it comes to a crisp summer tan, the editors are divided
While the summer tan can’t be crisp enough for editor Ilka, her colleague Jessica prefers the shade. Why? We’ll tell you here.
Crunchy summer tan: 1 trend, 2 opinions
First it is the elegant paleness that is “en vogue”, next year the skin cannot be sun-kissed enough for that. As ambivalent as the trend forecasts for the summer months are, the opinion in our fashion and beauty editorial team is also divided.
More is always possible
“Are you okay? You look so pale,” I grew up with this sentence. I can’t hear him anymore. In winter I take on the color of my walls – not tingly, I can tell you – so it’s no wonder that I throw off all my clothes and lie on the balcony as soon as the first rays of sun show up in the sky. Because one thing is certain for me: a summer tan is beautiful. It makes us look healthy and vital and my reserves of strength are replenished with vitamin D. Of course I am careful with this. Sun protection is not foregone, but the fact that the skin is aging thanks to exposure to the sun leaves me cold in summer. I live according to the motto: More is always possible!
Better pale than crispy fried
I can’t dismiss it by hand: I too always wanted to be tanned when I was a teenager. But nothing helped, on the contrary, it was not uncommon for me to come back from the outdoor pool with blisters and fiery red skin. What is my finding today, around 15 years later? Accept and learn to love each other. Despite pale skin on my arms and legs, I wear short skirts and tops. For me, a tan is no longer an essential part of summer. I have become more self-confident and instead use other colors. A dark green or blue not only make my eyes sparkle, but also make my complexion shine. Add a little bronzer and highlighter and a worried “Are you okay” turns into a “Wow, you look great” in a flash.
