CS:GO: G2 Esports loses its last French representative

As usual, 1PV had the right information! The last French representative of the CS:GO team at G2 Esports packed his bags. It’s not really a huge surprise given that the roster was not working very well.. evidenced by his non-qualification for the next Major which will take place in Rio (Brazil).

While the French community had become accustomed to following and supporting the team in recent years, it is difficult to know if this will always be the case now that there are no longer any active tricolors. But as there are not 36 French teams in Tier 1, nostalgics will be able to remain faithful, at least initially.

A departure at the initiative of Rémy “XTQZZZ” Quoniam

The rumor had already announced the future separation between XTQZZZ and G2 Esports, but the structure ended up communicating officially on this subject. We learned in particular that it was the French coach who was at the initiative of his departure. The latter has not yet spoken and we do not yet know precisely his motivations. It’s also hard to know if he intends to take a break or move on directly to a new project!

If we do a quick assessment of XTQZZZ at G2, it is very mixed. He didn’t win a title, but you can’t really blame him considering the Samurai haven’t lifted a trophy since 2019 and the Champions Cup Finals. At the time, the coach was still Damien “maLeK” Marcel. On the other hand, not qualifying the team for the Rio Major remains a huge disappointment, especially when you look at the quality of the roster that was at its disposal (Nico, m0nesy…). Among the good results, we can still note a final in IEM Katowice. But it was in February for a very dry 0-3 defeat.

There is still a Frenchman at G2… but on the bench!

To say that there are no more French people at G2 is a little inaccurate. There is still one under contract, but he has been locked up on the bench for (too) long. It’s about snipper Kenny”kennyS” Schrub. Used from time to time as a luxury joker, he has however been mostly inactive for more than a year and a half. He streams and continues to represent the G2 brand, but we hope to see him again soon on a field, the place des champions. Whether on Valorant or on CS:GO, we pray that a way out will be offered to him one day or another…

esport-csgo

Astralis is making headlines right now in the esports world. After keeping their League of Legends team in the LEC, the Red Star managed another big blow but on CS:GO. The latest results are rather disappointing, but that could change with this XXL rookie.
