CBS only waited a few years to resurrect one of its cult series, CSI: Las Vegas. Broadcast on its channel between 2000 and 2015, it gave birth to two spin-offs (Miami and Manhattan). In CSI: Vegas, a whole new forensic team is leading the investigation.
The first episode opens with the mugging of Jim Brass, a well-known character from the parent series. He discovers that it is a former criminal, Lucky, who is behind all this and that this attack is only the beginning. The police have no choice but to call on the elders to lead the investigation. At the same time, Hodges, one of their former colleagues, is notably convicted of trafficking in evidence. Grissom and the others must prove he is innocent…
Spread the word, this CSI: Vegas smells like mothballs. This sequel remains faithful to the previous seasons, with the same credits, the same dynamics, the same way of filming, of investigating… Here again, it is a procedural series – a case in each episode – with a red thread .
What may seem “dated” or “old fashioned” for a young audience, will rekindle good memories for fans of the first hour. If you have dreamed one day (like the author of these lines) of joining the scientific police after watching the series, well this desire may come back to you…
The only criticism that can be made of it concerns its viewing mode. Its arrival on Paramount+, where it is available in its entirety, can lead to binge-watching.
