Filter coffee still has many fans in France. However, it is often associated with ground coffee, which tends to quickly lose its aroma when not stored in optimal conditions. So that even filter coffee lovers can enjoy a drink with the intense aroma of freshly ground beans, Cuisinart has equipped its DGB2E filter coffee maker with a steel grinder, placed under the bean container with a capacity of 100 grams. The coffee is therefore ground on demand and does not risk going stale since the manufacturer promises airtight storage of the precious grain.

Small particularity of the DGB2E compared to other filter coffee makers with grinder (and which most of them have a jug), it only prepares one cup at a time and the user has the choice of the volume of drink: 120 ml, 210 ml or 300 ml. In the latter case, you will have to remember to fill the small water tank of only 1.35 liters so as not to end up with a much shorter coffee than desired. Obviously, the Cuisinart model is not capable of keeping the coffee hot in the carafe. It will therefore be necessary to taste it immediately. Located on the upper front of the device, the control panel allows you to choose the quantity of coffee delivered, but also the intensity of the aroma. Two other buttons allow you to turn the device on (or turn it off, if applicable) or start grinding the coffee.

Who says filter coffee says filter holder and in fact, Cuisinart provides two to place directly under the grinder. Note that a space, located on the left side of the DGB2E, allows you to store the one that is not used. Once the coffee has been ground, the filter holder loaded with powder is placed in the extraction chamber, to the right of the tank, before starting the preparation by selecting the quantity of coffee to pour.

As we mentioned, the DGB2E is a drip coffee maker; it is therefore not able to make an espresso, which requires, among other things, a pressure of at least 9 bars for preparation according to the rules of the art.

The Cuisinart DGB2E filter coffee maker is already available for just under €200.
