The cult comedian Karl Dall has died at the age of 79. Dalls family confirmed this to the dpa news agency. He had not recovered from a stroke with bleeding in the brain that he suffered twelve days ago.

Dall fell asleep peacefully "despite the use of all technological and intensive medical measures". He had never regained his consciousness before. The comedian and actor was most recently in front of the camera for the ARD telenovela "Rote Rosen". The shooting in Lüneburg was then interrupted on November 11th due to suspicion of a stroke at Dall. A few days later, Dall's daughter, Janina Dall Nenadic (46), confirmed that it was actually a stroke.

Dall started his career in the comedian band Insterburg & Co. in 1967. He later hosted talk shows on TV or worked as a singer. Dall was also repeatedly in front of the camera for various films and series. From 1985 to 1991 he had his own series on RTL with "Dall-As". He then switched to Sat.1, where he continued the talk series from 1992 to 1994 with prominent guests under the name "Jux und Dallerei".
