Kim de l’Horizon: Also nominated for the Swiss Book Prize
well.
Now the nominees for the Swiss Book Prize are: Lioba Happel (“Pommfritz aus der Hölle”), Thomas Hürlimann (“Der rote Diamant”), Simon Fröhling (“Dürrst”), Thomas Röthlisberger (“Counting Stones”) and Kim de l’Horizon (“Blood Book”). The five prevailed from a total of 88 registered titles.
The nomination for the Swiss Book Prize follows that for the German Book Prize for de l’Horizon. The shortlists show the interest in queer literature in German-speaking countries. This is particularly pronounced on the Swiss side, where not only the “Blutbuch” but also Fröhling’s “Dürrst” serves this section.
Another focus is on dark family stories, with which Happel’s “Pommfritz aus der Hölle” can come up as well as Röthlisberger’s “Counting Stones” and de l’Horizons “Blutbuch”.
