Akira Toriyama left us a few days ago, but his work will live on for many years to come. Indeed, the different arcs of the Dragon Ball series have left their mark on the minds and lovers of pop culture, beyond generations…

If Dragon Ball is indeed the beginning of the epic of Son Goku, the hero created by the great mangaka, this character has evolved over the years and even over generations of readers (or those who prefer the series in animated version ). So, there was indeed Dragon Ball, but also Dragon Ball Z and even Dragon Ball Super. Let’s not forget either Dragon Ball GT and the next step which will soon materialize by Dragon Ball Daima.

DBZ, the most memorable arc?

If one of these arcs has remained forever engraved in the minds of fans, it is that of Dragon Ball Z. First with the arrival of the Saiyans on Earth, then the journey to Namek with the encounter with the frightening Frieza, before the landing of the Cyborgs, Cell and, finally, the emergence of one of the other most iconic enemies of the series, Buu.

Today, we are going to look at the DBZ arc to find out if you really know it, if it no longer holds any secrets for you despite the years. Good luck !

Akira Toriyama didn’t just create Dragon Ball!

Obviously, everyone knows Akira Toriyama thanks to the success of Dragon Ball, but the master mangaka did not only produce this series. Indeed, he is also at the origin of Dr Slump, with the terrible Arale, who we can also meet in Dragon Ball! We also owe him the series The Mangaka Apprenticea meeting on manga in the V-Jump store, Dragon Boy, Go! Go! Ackman, Cowa!, Jaco The Galactic Patroller (present in Dragon Ball Super…), but also a few others… This is proof that Mr Toriyama was also capable of renewing himself while keeping his characteristic pencil stroke which brought him success. And soon, you will see the creator’s heroes again in DB Daima, but also Sand Land including the video game arrives April 26. We’ll talk to you about it again very soon on JV, that goes without saying.

Sand Land: The Series

While publisher Bandai Namco prepares the release of its action-RPG Sand Land, you will have to go to Disney+ to discover the animated version. Sand Land: The series is part of a vast mixed media project which finds its origins in an old manga by the father of Dragon Ball, Akira Toriyama. Published in 2000 in Japan and available in French from Glénat, the one-shot Sand Land also finds its place in The World, the author’s global imaginary universe. The story unfolds from the point of view of Beelzebub, the prince of demons, who begins an eventful journey through the desert in search of a mysterious sacred spring. An entire program !
