A new player intends to enter the ultra-competitive Japanese animation market in 2024 with an anime created by the director of “Jujutsu Kaisen” and the studios behind the One Piece prequel “Monsters”. This new animated series challenges the competition with a sword in hand.

Japanese animation fans are used to turning to Crunchyroll and/or Netflix to satisfy their passion, but in 2024 it could well be that another actor will openly catch their eye with a very enticing production. Adult Swim is a North American broadcast channel known primarily for the animated series Rick and Morty and which this year sets its sights on Japanese animation with an original project.
Ninja Kamui is an anime directed by Sunghoo Park who became known for season 1 of The God of Highschool as well as the film Jujutsu Kaisen 0. And he’s not the only big name in the industry to join the creative team. This Adult Swim Original can count on character designer Takashi Okazaki (Afro Samurai) to make the story of this ninja and his quest for revenge memorable. Finally, Ninja Kamui is produced by the animation studios that recently worked on the One Piece prequel “Monsters: The Inferno of the Flying Dragon of 103 Passions” broadcast in France on Netflix and Anime Digital Network (ADN).
The anime tells the story of former ninja Joe Higan living in rural America with his family after fleeing his clan. Found by his former organization, he is left for dead while his family is massacred. Joe reappears under his old name – Ninja Kamui – with the sole objective of avenging his loved ones. A 21st century ninja, he mixes his ancient warrior skills and technologically advanced weapons to defeat the enemies who stand in his way. Facing trained assassins, combat cyborgs and rival ninjas, he strives to bring down the clan that saw him born and raised.
Ninja Kamui is released on February 11, 2024 in the United States and the next day in France (USA + 24h).

Anime for the first quarter of 2024
Animated series from Japan are raining down on simulcast platforms (for Simultaneous Broadcast) and other SVOD services in the first half of 2024. Between the series still in progress (One Piece, Frieren, etc.), the new seasons (Mashle, Classroom of the Elite) and the new releases (Bucchigiri?!, Metallic Rouge, Solo Leveling), there really is something for everyone.
