Netflix has just released the trailer for Fistful of Vengeance, a film produced by the American giant and directed by Roel Reiné. It is a stand-alone from the Wu Assassins series.

Wu Assassins is a series by John Wirth and Tony Krantz, released on Netflix in 2019, and whose critics had made praise for his fight choreographies. No doubt it will be the same for this spin-off film, Fistful of Vengeance, which announces the color in a trailer where the blows seem to go as fast as the images.

Fast and furious are my fists

Iko Uwais, Lewis Tan, Lawrence Kao, JuJu Chan Szeto, Jason Tobin… Many are the actors in reprise their role from the series in this sequel to the first season, which takes the form of a stand-alone film. Filmed at San Francisco and Bangkok, the film features a story of revenge, as its title suggests. We find the atmosphere of the series, referred to as the “Fast and Furious of martial arts”, with the re-forming Wu Assassins team.

Kai Jin, a young chef in San Francisco’s Chinatown, sees the owner of his restaurant being murdered. Kai, who is actually a killer with superpowers, meets again his team and sues members triads up to bangkok. Quickly, its personal quest revenge reveals a much greater mystery : its objective becomes save the world of a much bigger and older threat.

Fistful of Vengeance will be available on Netflix on February 17, 2022.
