Difficult to talk about Sylvester Stallone without associating it with Rambo. With Rocky, these are surely the actor’s two key roles that are likely to stick with him even after his death. However, we could see him in other roles such as in Expendables or even in Guardians of the Galaxy. But if it’s the man with the red headband and the machine guns that interests you, know that the sequel to the Rambo saga is starting to get talked about. Started in 1982 with the first eponymous film (itself adapted from a novel released in 1972), it now includes no less than 5 films, the latest of which was released almost five years ago.
If the latter was rather imagined as a final opus, it must be admitted that nothing ever really ends in Hollywood, and especially not the successful saga. The producers Kevin King Templeton And The Weldons had also benefited from the release of Expendables 4 last September to raise the idea of a sixth episode of Rambo. However, Sylvester Stallone is now 77 years old, and he may be starting to get a little old to take on this iconic role. In any case, this is what he himself admits, since he recently spoke of a potential successor to whom he would pass on the blindfold and the machine guns. Invited to Tonight Show by Jimmy Fallon a few days ago, Stallone actually admitted that he was done with Rambo, but that he would like to see a certain Ryan Gosling take over the role:
I actually met him at a dinner and obviously we are total opposites. He’s handsome, I’m not. It’s like that, it doesn’t matter. No, seriously, can you imagine me as Ken? It doesn’t work at all. (Ryan Gosling) told me, “I was going to school dressed as Rambo and my classmates were chasing me, but I wouldn’t stop. And you know, I went on vacation as Rambo.” (He) kept telling me he had a lot of affinity with Rambo. So, I thought it was very interesting. If I ever passed the baton, I would pass it to him, because he loves the character.
Needless to say, we didn’t really see this move coming. However, it must be admitted that Ryan Gosling has a particularly eclectic career. Of Crazy, Stupid, Love has barbie Passing by Drive, The Place Beyond the Pines And La La Land (without forgetting Blade Runner 2049 And The Nice Guys), he seems capable of playing many different roles. Moreover, he will soon return to the cinema thanks to the action film The Fall Guy, a trailer of which was broadcast during the Super Bowl on Sunday night.
