Unavailable for more than fifty years, this musical documentary has just been released on Disney+ after a long restoration process. The perfect opportunity to relive the last moments of a legendary group.

An exceptional documentary finally available in restored version

At the dawn of the 1970s, the Beatles met one last time in the studio to record their final album. A historic period, immortalized by Michael Lindsay-Hogg who decided to make a documentary about it released a few months later. This documentary entitled Let it Be, like the song and album of the same name, disappeared from the radar for more than fifty years. But Disney decided to remedy this by recently offering it to Disney+ subscribers in a fully restored version. Reviled when it was released by the Beatles and their fans, this project was never released in cinemas again, even if it survived the decades in poor quality clandestine versions. It was ultimately the work of Peter Jackson that prompted Michael Lindsay-Hogg to re-dedicate himself to this documentary.

A project made possible by Peter Jackson

A few years ago, Peter Jackson was able to get his hands on much of the footage shot by Michael Lindsay-Hogg. The New Zealand filmmaker then undertook long work to draw from these images a documentary series released in 2021 and entitled Get Back. Given the success of this series, Michael Lindsay-Hogg therefore agreed to entrust his documentary to the company Park Road Post Production for a complete restoration. This restoration work was also supervised by Peter Jackson, which brings us today to the release of Let it Be on Disney+. You can now go to the streaming platform to discover the series Get Back and this film which allow you to fully immerse yourself in the life of the Beatles and inevitably, to relive the last moments they shared together.
