Cursed to Golf is getting PlayStation versions and will be released on August 18

If it is far from being the first independent game to divert the principles of golf to cook them with its sauce, Cursed to Golf does not seem to lack ideas. At the controls of the cursed ghost of a golfer who died on the verge of winning a tournament, the player must complete an 18-hole course to earn the right to return to life. Small complication, not only does missing a hole bring us back to the very beginning of the course, but the latter is constantly evolving according to the laws of rogue-like. “At each new start, the 18 holes that make up your course are randomly chosen from a selection of more than 70 holes“, can we read on the PlayStation Blog, knowing that the player has only five moves to reach the flag.

The holes, which are like dungeons, are scattered in four biomes (Purgatory, Desert, Caves, Hell) with all kinds of subtleties, traps, but also useful objects, all the same. “Shot Idols are a blessing from the god of golf, granting you extra shots when you pass through them and teleporters can get you closer to the flag. If you blast them wisely, even TNT crates can come in handy, revealing shortcuts“, we are told. The player can also count on twenty single-use skills (Ace cards) which will probably not be too many during boss fights.
