Cyberpunk 2 is going to be insane, you haven’t seen anything yet

One of the minds behind Cyberpunk 2077 has just made a statement that will make fans’ mouths water. It concerns the long-awaited sequel.

Cyberpunk 2077 has a fascinating story to say the least. What’s worth remembering is how CD Projekt Red managed to get it back on its feet after a chaotic launch. Today, the game is appreciated by the majority, in short, everything is back to normal. Now, it is its sequel that is being closely watched by players. And in fact, a new statement from one of the developers has just made a good part of the community salivate.

Cyberpunk 2077 was a good warm-up

For the moment, we don’t know much about “Project Orion” or Cyberpunk 2. The Polish studio is careful not to reveal anything to us, at least for the moment. On the other hand, from time to time, certain members of the firm like to speak out via interviews or on social networks. When this happens, it is often to make a great announcement regarding this sequel. Recently, Igor Sarzynski, narrative director on the game, posted a message on X (formerly Twitter). And it didn’t fail to excite eager fans.

In itself, he does not reveal anything huge regarding Cyberpunk 2. On the other hand, he specifies that it is his first day in the Boston office for the development of the title. He concluded his message by explaining that 2077 was “just a warm-up.” When we see the success that the first opus had, especially after all the updates, it piques curiosity. The potential of the franchise will visibly show all its power with this new opus, and we couldn’t dream of better.

First day in the Boston office! So good to meet old friends and officially start our Orion journey. I couldn’t be more excited for this project and I’m sure we can make it special. 2077 was just a warm-up.

Changes in the origins

Cyberpunk 2 will be an opportunity for CD Projekt to correct the flaws of its predecessor. The studio listens to the community, and it wants to prove it. As a result, changes will be made to the choice of its origin. In 2077, you can be a Corp, a Nomad or a Street Kid. Technically, this is supposed to have a big impact on the storyline. In reality, after the prologue, the three paths come together, and the main plot begins. But the sequel intends to rectify the situation, as explained by Philipp Weber, another narrative director at CD Projekt Red.

There are things with, for example, life choices, that promise you being able to play more different types of characters. This is something we would like to improve in the future. I do think we made a promise that perhaps we haven’t really kept.
