With Cyberpunk 2077 on PC, CD Projekt RED showed us the extent of its talent for flattering our retinas. Thanks to the latest technologies from NVIDIA deployed in Phantom Liberty, this observation is even more telling. Add to the mix to push the realism of the game to the limit, and you have a properly “ Breathtaking » !
When fiction exceeds reality in Cyberpunk 2077
From the start, Cyberpunk 2077 was a way for NVIDIA to showcase its latest technologies. DLSS 3.5, Ray Tracing or even Reflex, the CD Projekt RED title lacked nothing to impress us. The only game capable of competing with it is Alan Wake 2. Except that three years separate the release of one from the other. However, Night City continues to amaze us, and even becomes more beautiful with time!
This superb video from Digital Dreams proves it to us by pushing all the graphics settings absolutely to the limit. Shot in 8k and supported by impressive mods, it sometimes makes us almost forget that we are in a game (well, the character has no head when he looks at himself in a reflection, but…). The mods in question are aptly named to give us a masterful graphic slap in the face. The first is a mod aimed at making ray tracing ultra realistic. This makes it possible to display true-to-life reflections on vehicles. The second is a ReShade called Photorealistic Night City. This speaks for itself, with a dystopian megalopolis absolutely screaming for realism.
Cyberpsycho’s Bike Required
Unfortunately, you have to be an extremely wealthy cyberpunk to afford the bike to run the game in such conditions. As shown in the video thumbnail, an RTX 4090 is essential. The other parts of the car aren’t cheap either. Count on a Ryzen 9 7950X, 32 GB of DDR5 6000 MHz RAM and a very robust M.2 NVMe SSD.
No matter, thanks to Digital Dreams we are entitled to nine minutes of escape into the fascinating dystopian future of Mike Pondsmith, with CD Projekt RED style. This is to better realize that, ultimately, as beautiful as it is, it is not really going to be good to live in Night City.
