Cyberpunk 2077: patch 2.01 launched, here’s what it fixes

Last month, CD Project launched a 2.0 update for Cyberpunk 2077as well as the extension Phantom Liberty. THE FPS/RPG has Night City was entitled to a bunch of improvements and new features, but of course, a few bugs have crept into this content, so the developers are coming to the rescue.

CD Project launches today a patch 2.01 for Cyberpunk 2077which fixes several technical issues and improves performance, here is what to remember from this update:

Phantom Liberty specific changes

  • Balls to the Wall – When talking to Paco, repeating the blue dialogue option from the Corpo course will no longer block progression.
  • Dog Eat Dog – It is no longer possible to obtain multiple Relic points by triggering the encounter with Songbird more than once.
  • Firestarter – V no longer gets stuck in a wall or roof after performing a finishing move on Kurt Hansen.
  • Moving Heat:

Fixed a bug that could cause all cars to disappear after completing the quest.

Fixed an issue that could cause various disruptions to quest progress after triggering a fight in the Garage in specific scenarios.

  • New Person, Same Old Mistakes – Fixed a bug so that the portal to Bill’s hot dog stand was no longer closed.
  • Somewhat Damaged:

Fixed a bug that prevented the player from scanning the neural network system.

Various fixes for bunker devices.

  • The Killing Moon – Fixed an issue that prevented the doors leading to the shuttle from opening.
  • You Know My Name:

Fixed an issue where V could no longer disconnect from the Sniper’s Nest, blocking quest progress, after switching cameras in a loop at the end of the sequence.

Reed will now wear his party outfit during the dialogue with Songbird.

Some phone calls needed to continue the main story no longer start late.

Various visual fixes to animations, lighting, scenes, visual effects, etc.

Performance improvements for PC and consoles, especially in the Dogtown area.

Quests and open world

  • Automatic Love – The distortion effect caused by speaking with Johnny and choosing a specific dialogue option at the end of the quest will no longer persist on screen.
  • Ghost Town – Fixed a bug where the quest would get stuck on the objective “Defeat Nash and his men” if the game was saved during combat before update 2.0.
  • Contract: Special Flash:

Ted Fox’s car now appears correctly.

Fixed a bug where arriving in the quest area would not trigger the contract.

  • Contract: Farewell Party – Fixed a bug where it was impossible to get into the car with Flavio because it appeared underground.
  • Contract: The Lord Gives and Takes Back – The Militech SUV no longer appears underground.
  • Killing In The Name:

Fixed an issue where players could no longer scan clues if they did not complete this quest, which would then prevent them from progressing in many other quests.

The Bartmoss Collective website is now always visible.

  • Playing for Time – Healing and radio icons no longer disappear from the HUD after the chase with Takemura.
  • Space Oddity – Fixed a bug where the quest would not activate when approaching the area before update 2.0.
  • The heist:

Fixed a bug where Jackie was not present in front of the Afterlife.

V can no longer walk across the floor and die while taking the elevator to the 42nd floor with a low FPS rating.

The Prophet’s Song – Fixed a bug where completing the quest could cause the police to turn a blind eye to V’s crimes.

The Charcudoc – Jackie no longer returns to the noodle stand by refusing to drive to the charcudoc if the player moves from the passenger seat to the driver’s seat.

Fixed a bug where NCPD odd jobs remained unfinished even after collecting the necessary containers.

All iconic weapons now appeared correctly on the wall of the cache in V’s apartment.

Decreased the minimum attribute value needed to enter the zone where the Thermal Katana can be collected.

Gameplay

  • It is now possible to correctly switch to cybernetic arm hardware while cycling around the weapons.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause V to be invulnerable to all damage.
  • The wheelless NCPD patrol car wreck will no longer patrol the streets of Night City.
  • Fixed a bug where some obsolete modules in the inventory and cache were not exchanged for a new weapon module.
  • Weapons obtained before update 2.0 no longer have a level that is too high compared to that of the player.
  • Overpressure of various obsolete manufacturing plans.
  • You now collect 1 crafting component when dismantling a Budget Arms Slaught-O-Matic.

PC specific modifications

  • Fixed an issue where the UI could display controller controls when playing with keyboard and mouse.
  • Players who were unable to obtain achievements due to an issue preventing Phantom Liberty achievements from being unlocked on PC before a backend patch was implemented on the game’s release day will be able to unlock them retroactively on GOG and Steam after loading a save of their game session. For the Epic Games Store, the issue is still under investigation.
  • Fixed an issue where, after installing update 2.0 on GOG without the expansion, a window stating “Phantom Liberty downloaded, please return to main menu to access new content” could appear in the game menu.
  • Improved the image quality of DLSS ray reconstruction with the “Ultra Performance” setting.

Console-specific changes

  • Fixed the issue of corrupted saves on PlayStation by increasing the maximum save file size limit. Note: This will not affect saves that were already corrupted before the update.
  • Launching the game without an internet connection no longer requires the player to reconnect to My GOG Rewards.

Miscellaneous

  • Various crash fixes on PC and consoles.
  • Vehicle radio volume has been adjusted so that it is no longer too low compared to other sounds in the game. If you have lowered the volume of other sound effects in order to hear the radio better, you may need to do so. readjust before continuing your game.
  • Added missing sounds for the Basilisk.
  • You can no longer earn an infinite score in Trauma Drama by shooting enemies that jump from the helicopter in a loop.
  • The Growl FM and Dark Star sites will now be visible when playing without owning Phantom Liberty.
  • Fixed a bug where disconnecting from the internet did not display an error message in the My Rewards and Cross Progress tabs.
  • The song History by Gazelle Twin and Trash Generation will no longer play when you enable the “Turn off dropped music” option.
  • Fixed a bug that did not display hair shadow when ray tracing was enabled.
  • Players who pre-ordered Phantom Liberty and have not yet received the Quadra Sport R-7 “Vigilante” will receive it.
  • Several Ukrainian localization improvements and changes, including fixes for lines where the translation lost its original meaning.

REDmod

  • Fixed an issue where tweak mods were not compiling in REDmod.
  • Added Phantom Liberty support to REDmod.
