CD Project just published the balance sheet of the third quarter of the 2023 fiscal year, the Polish studio is obviously returning to the exit of Phantom Libertythe expansion to its first-person shooter role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077. The base game had sold more than 25 million copies, the target was large, but the additional content was only released on the latest generation platforms.
The players still showed up, CD Project announces that Phantom Liberty sold 4.3 million copies, around 20% of Cyberpunk 2077 owners fell for the expansion. The studio also welcomes the 92% positive reviews on Steam last monthfor the base game as well as for the additional content, and recalls that the game is nominated in five categories for Game Awards 2023. And above all, a Ultimate Edition will be released in a few days.
The document also includes a graph showing the distribution of developers on the different studio projects. Nothing really surprising, it was already announced this summer, but it is now official: the majority of the workforce CD Project working on the next game The Witcherknown under the code name Project Polaris and which will be the first part of a new trilogy.
