Cycling in Burgenland – get on the saddle and enjoy cycling!

300 days of sunshine a year, gently rolling landscapes and an extensive network of cycle paths – starting tomorrow, Saturday, Burgenland invites you to “bike up” and thus heralds the cycling season

The days are getting longer, the temperatures are rising and nature in eastern Austria is waking up from its short hibernation. While others are still wearing warm winter clothes, the people of Burgenland and their guests are already getting their bikes out of the cellar. 3300 km of cycle paths, 40 km of single trails and various events from north to south make bikers’ hearts beat faster. And that’s already tomorrow, Saturday, when the new outdoor season is officially heralded with the “Anradeln”. According to Burgenland Tourism Managing Director Didi Tunkel, the early start is intended to make it clear that the spring season is already beginning in Burgenland, while skiing is still popular in the west. Various cycling events throughout Burgenland for all ages at “Anradeln” Saturday, March 11th from 11 a.m. Information: anradeln.burgenland.info Highlights: spectacular stunts in Podersdorf am See at the “Masters of Dirt – Big Air Show”; Rosalia-Kogelberg Nature Park in Rohrbach including a 6.5 km route for the whole family with a puzzle rally and nature workshop. Driving technique taster course and guided tours on the Burgenland trails near Rechnitz and Lockenhaus. “Due to the clear climate advantage of Burgenland, guests with us will find the earliest spring in Austria and can enjoy unique cycling experiences all year round,” explains Governor and tourism officer Hans Peter Doskozil. New: Bahntrassenradweg in Bad TatzmannsdorfOb at the “Masters of Dirt – Big Air Show “ in Podersdorf am See, leisurely biking in Rohrbach in the Rosalia-Kogelberg Nature Park, cycling on the new Bahntrassenradweg in Bad Tatzmannsdorf or the Burgenland Trails in Lockenhaus and on the Gewrittenstein – the three tourism associations have put together a package for all age groups. And don’t worry, culinary delights and entertainment won’t be left behind. In the Rosalia-Kogelberg nature park, the whole family can cycle comfortably on a 6.5 km long route around the pond meadows – including a puzzle rally. The youngest should not miss the colorful afternoon program with Sunny Bunny from the Sonnentherme as well as Burgmaus Forfel and witch Griselda from “Forchtenstein Fantastisch”.
