After Adam Yates, it is Joao Almeida who wins the Tour de Suisse. The Team UAE Emirates rider wins the shortened 6th stage between Ulrichen and the summit finish in Blatten. Yellow jersey on his shoulders, Yates attacked 3.5 kilometers from the finish. Only Almeida, Mattias Skjelmose (Lild-Trek) and Egan Bernal (Ineos Grenadiers) remained a few dozen meters from the Briton. The Colombian attacked 2 kilometers before being caught by the Skjelmose-Almeida duo a kilometer later and being dropped by the Portuguese. The latter caught up with his teammate before winning the stage. The Dane from Lidl-Trek took 3rd place. Lenny Martinez finished 5th in the stage, 35 seconds behind the winner of the day. In the general classification, Adam Yates is ahead of Almeida by 27 seconds and Bernal finds himself 1’28 behind.
