Cycling: The big start of the 2026 Tour de France given in Barcelona

PARIS, June 18 (Reuters) – The 2026 cycling Tour de France will start on July 4 from Barcelona for the third major Spanish start in its history, its organizer, Amaury Sport Organization (ASO), announced on Tuesday.

Spain hosted the big start of the Tour de France in 1992 in San Sebastian and in 2023 in Bilbao.

This will be the fourth departure abroad in five years after Copenhagen in 2022, Bilbao in 2023 and Florence on June 29. Lille (North) will host the start of the 2025 edition. (Written by Vincent Daheron)
