Cyclists sounded the alarm – kayak found in the river: search for the driver

Cyclists traveling along the Isel River in East Tyrol sounded the alarm after discovering an abandoned kayak in the water.

A 36-year-old kayaker was out on the island on Saturday. After a few hundred meters, the kayak was hit by a water roller and the kayaker capsized. The man was able to free himself from the kayak and save himself from the water. The capsized boat drifted into the district of Huben. Cyclists noticed it, immediately raised the alarm and triggered a large search operation. The kayaker was found unharmed about 15 kilometers from the scene of the accident. The FF Huben as well as the water rescue service and the police were in action.
