Cyprus: TotalEnergies announces a significant offshore gas discovery on Block 6

Regulatory News:

TotalEnergies (Paris:TTE) (LSE:TTE) (NYSE:TTE) and Eni (operator) have made a significant gas discovery on the Cronos-1 well, located in Block 6, off the coast of Cyprus. This discovery follows that of Calypso-1 made on this same block in 2018.

Located about 160 km southwest of the Cypriot coast, Cronos-1 encountered several intervals of good quality carbonate reservoir and confirmed a net gas thickness of more than 260 meters.

“This success on the Cronos-1 exploration well is further illustration of the impact of our exploration strategy which focuses on low technical cost and low emissions resources, in order to contribute to energy security and provide additional gas supply resources to Europe. », said Kevin McLachlan, Exploration Director of TotalEnergies.

The drilling of an additional exploration well on Block 6 is planned in order to investigate significant additional resources and to evaluate the best development options.

TotalEnergies holds a 50% stake in Block 6, of which Eni is the operator (50%).

In Cyprus, TotalEnergies is also present in offshore blocks 11 (50%, operator), 7 (50%, operator), 2 (20%), 3 (30%), 8 (40%) and 9 (20%) .
