“I think that all the party leaders of the New Popular Front have been quite clear. The person who will be Prime Minister if the Popular Front becomes the majority will be a more consensual person,” explained Léon Deffontaines on Europe 1, referring to Jean-Luc Mélenchon.
The spokesperson for the Communist Party is part of the New Popular Front alliance and is running in the third constituency of the Somme, in Picardy, for the early legislative elections. Léon Deffontaines also believes that Fabien Roussel could also claim the seat of Prime Minister in the event of an NFP victory. “I think he is a little more consensual. But in any case, we need a consensual person. Now, my objective is to win my constituency with as many candidates as possible. We need a new Popular Front manages to win their constituencies so that we can finally apply our program and that it is a bit synonymous with hope for the French”, he added to Cyril Hanouna’s microphone.
Léon Deffontaines, the losing candidate in the European elections, assures that these legislative elections are a second chance for him: “It’s extra time and, as I’ve always said, I’m not afraid to go back to the polls. I always said during the European campaign that I wanted to flush out the National Rally and Jordan Bardella, and in particular the fact that he is a falsifier of the social question. Well, I intend to continue that in the legislative elections.”
