From one cooking show to another. Norbert Tarayre and his Chefs at homegives way to Cyril Lignac. After My cake is the best in France Where Everyone in the kitchenthe famous chef arrives, from this Monday, May 23 at 6:40 p.m. on M6, with a brand new program, entitled Cyril Lignac’s cake academy. As indicated by his name, Cyril Lignac is the director of an academy there in which he is supported by two professors and big names in pastry: Ophélie Barès and Desty Brami. Together they welcome 24 amateur pastry chefs who want to make their passion their profession. A change of life not without consequences. “Baking a cake at home is easy. Making it your job is a commitment“, says Cyril Lignac. So, to help them as best as possible in their project, former juror Top chef decided to put the package. But for that you will have to be motivated, work and progress thanks to the advice of the head teachers and guests.

After an initial learning phase during which the candidates will be judged on different pastry techniques, only twelve of them will qualify to enter the second cycle, that of training. Finally, they will be only six to be selected for the third and last phase, that of professionalization, during which they will compete during high-level tests. After a thrilling final, only one of the amateur pastry chefs will win this first edition of Cyril Lignac’s cake academy. And the least we can say is that he will not leave empty-handed. Sincehe will obtain a position within the teams of Cyril Lignac. A real employment contract is the key. He will also win 10,000 euros and CAP training. “We will give him all the weapons to be able to start his project: a financial boost, a first job and professional training.“, rejoices the producer of the program, Matthieu Jean Toscani. Moreover, at the end of their participation, it will be given to the best students in this class”a real CAP diploma to record and confirm this immersion that they had with us during the competition“.

How will Cyril Lignac’s Cake Academy take place?

They are therefore 24 to try their luck and see if they are truly capable of becoming professional pastry chefs. Each day, the candidates will follow courses, tutorials and different exercises will be imposed on them. “We tried to get as close as possible, with the teachers, to what a course can be like in a school like the Institute of Culinary Arts. This is accelerated training“, explains producer Jérémie Fazel. Their objective is therefore to help them progress and prepare them for this difficult environment. In view of the final stake, Cyril Lignac will therefore want to get the best out of these candidates. See what they really have in their guts. Throughout the adventure, 21 big names in the kitchen will come to challenge the candidates and provide them with masterclasses to make them envious, like Pierre Hermé, Nina Metayer, Philippe Conticini; of the Meilleurs Ouvriers de France Philippe Bertrand and Guy Krenzer, or the starred Frédéric Anton and Sébastien Vauxion.

Above all, candidates will come face to face with the harsh reality of the job thanks to application exercises during which they will have to prove themselves in the restaurant of the Academy where they will have customers of outsiders who will taste their work. Every Friday, the two best of them will also have the chance to have immersion courses in luxury hotels and renowned boutiques with the brigades already in place, while the two who have least seduced the palaces will face each other in a final face-to-face to try to save their skins in training. What about the final? Only the two best amateurs will compete for the place of the winner during a final where the pressure will be at its height. During a day, everyone will set up their ephemeral pastry in the heart of Paris. They will then offer passing customers several cakes as well as different sizes. It is not the one who will sell the most products who will win the show but the one who will have seduced the greatest number, as well as the teachers and Cyril Lignac.
