Dacia will present a Jogger Hybrid at the Paris Motor Show

Dacia recently previewed its range for the 2022 Paris Motor Show, including the Manifesto all-terrain concept, a camping kit for the Jogger and a revamped range with a new logo. As if that weren’t enough, Dacia is announcing two other “novelties”: the Jogger Hybrid and the Duster “Mat Edition”.

The first hybrid Dacia

Announced at the start of its production, the Jogger Hybrid Hybrid 140 will receive a motorization combining a heat engine with an electric machine. Although we don’t have details yet, there’s a good chance the powertrain will be taken from the 140hp Renault E-Tech engine, already seen in the Captur and Arkana. The 1.3 petrol unit is assisted by an alternator-starter and a small 12 V lithium-ion battery. The system thus recovers energy during the deceleration phases and retransmits them to the engine in the most energy-consuming phases, such as starting. and accelerations.

Admittedly, this hybridization is not as efficient as the E-Tech 145 which allows you to drive all-electric for 2 km, but the E-Tech Mild Hybrid, with light hybridization therefore, already makes it possible to lower the fuel and CO2 consumption. Above all, its cost and complexity, lower than that of the E-Tech 145, would allow Dacia to continue to practice a relatively contained price policy.

The Jogger Hybrid 140 will be presented at the Paris Motor Show before being marketed next year. The Romanian manufacturer will start taking orders at the beginning of 2023, with the first deliveries expected in spring 2023. After the electrified Jogger, we expect the same engine to appear on other Dacia models, including the next Duster generation.

Duster “Mat Edition” 150 hp

About the latter precisely, the restyled version of the SUV that has sold more than 2 million units since its launch will receive a new special version called “Mat Edition”, whose reservations will begin at the end of 2022. Dacia has not yet published a photos, but the manufacturer has announced that the model will feature an exclusive body color and come standard with all available equipment. It will be powered by the most powerful 1.3 liter TCe 150 hp petrol engine, combined with an EDC automatic transmission.

Finally, Dacia will present a range of “sustainable” products, including backpacks, water bottles, caps and raincoats, made from recycled materials.
