Ronaldo’s son celebrates birthday in pink DFB jersey

While dad Cristiano Ronaldo is setting records at the European Football Championship, his eldest son is celebrating his 14th birthday – and of all things, in the pink away jersey of the DFB team.

While Portugal’s superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is fighting for the European Championship title in Germany, his eldest son Cristiano Jr. celebrated his 14th birthday. And not in his dad’s jersey, but in the coveted pink away jersey of the German national team.

This can be seen in a video that Ronaldo’s partner Georgina Rodriguez published on Instagram. In it, Ronaldo’s eldest son comes to the breakfast table, still a little sleepy, where he is congratulated by his 30-year-old stepmother and his four siblings and receives presents.

“Happy birthday to my big boy. I love you to the moon and back,” Rodriguez wrote. Ronaldo also congratulated his son. “I can’t believe you’re 14, time flies. Happy birthday my partner in crime! Daddy loves you so much,” he wrote on Instagram.

Ronaldo played for several years with DFB returnee Toni Kroos at Real Madrid. However, the superstar, who now plays in Saudi Arabia, has not had a good experience with Germany in the national team. He has met the DFB team five times with Portugal at World and European Championships – and has only managed to score one goal at the 2020 European Championship. He has not yet won against Germany.

In addition to Cristiano Jr., Ronaldo has twins Eva and Mateo, as well as daughters Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda with Georgina Rodriguez. The family will probably have watched Ronaldo’s first game at this European Championship. The 39-year-old superstar and captain of the Portuguese team made it to his sixth European Championship appearance against the Czech Republic, setting a new record. He first played in a European Championship final 20 years ago. Back then, the Portuguese team was defeated in the final by sensational title holders Greece, coached by German coach Otto Rehhagel.

In 2016, the Portuguese won the European Championship in France, but the five-time world footballer was injured in the final and cheered his teammates on from the sidelines to win the title against the hosts. His appearance against the Czechs was Ronaldo’s 26th at a European Championship finals, no other football player has managed more. Up until the Portuguese’s opening match, he had scored 14 goals, which is also a record.
