As an electro duo, Daft Punk ("Get Lucky") revolutionized not only the world of house music but also the entire pop universe for over 28 years. On Monday afternoon, the successful French musicians surprisingly announced their separation in a YouTube video. This news surprised not only fans, but also musicians and companions of the band such as Pharrell Williams (47) or The Weeknd (31), who commented on the end of the era on social media.

Together with singer The Weeknd, Daft Punk celebrated two of their most commercially successful hits in 2016 with the songs "I Feel It Coming" and "Starboy". In an Instagram story, the musician wrote under a joint picture collage with the artists: "Thank you to have been part of the trip" and recalled the mutual success with a series of photos and quotes. Working with Daft Punk was a lifelong dream come true for him, he said in one of the stories.

Pharrell Williams, who created the mega hit "Get Lucky" with the duo, referred to Daft Punk on Twitter in a nutshell as "Legends Forever". music producer Mark Ronson (45), however, remembered on Twitter back to when he and Bruno Mars (35) lost the Grammy for "Locked Out of Heaven" to Daft Punk and Williams with "Get Lucky": "I remember when these beautiful French robots were lucky and us all evening Locked out of the sky at the 2013 Grammys.
