On the occasion of the release of his new book, Frédéric Beigbeder took the opportunity to return to the news during the Quotidien broadcast on Friday, January 7. And the writer delivered a strange theory about the death of the Bogdanoff brothers.
An outing as strange as the Bogdanoff brothers could be. Guest on the set of Day-to-day this Friday, January 7 to promote his latest novel entitled A heist against the Atlantic, Frédéric Beigbeder took the opportunity to return to current events in the company of Yann Barthès and his chroniclers. And their conversation quickly drifted onto the terrible tragedy of the moment: the deaths of Igor and Grichka Bogdanoff.
The two scientific twins died from Covid-19 just six short days apart. Unvaccinated, they had until then been placed in intensive care in a Parisian hospital. Obviously known to Frédéric Beigbeder, the French writer wanted to pay them a nice tribute : “I am thinking in particular of Igor’s six children. Everyone laughed a lot about their looks and all that but …”. After a few seconds of reflection on the follow-up to be given to his sentence, the famous author resumed his course of thought.
Frédéric Beigbeder: “Wouldn’t the Bogdanoffs have sacrificed themselves to tell people to get vaccinated?”
And the least we can say is that the latter amazed around the table of Day-to-day. “Can I come up with a theory? They were amazing boys, scientists who aspired to be scholars. And I wonder if they didn’t sacrifice themselves, if they didn’t give their lives to tell people: get vaccinated “. Amazed by this exit of Frédéric Beigbeder, Yann Barthès let his guest continue. “They weren’t vaccinated. And they proved that we had to get vaccinated.”. Obviously, an uneasiness was felt, even if the presenter of Quotidien replied that “it was a theory like any other”.
