The rumor mill is churning: Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin are said to have secretly gotten engaged, as an insider reports.
Coldplay singer Chris Martin (47) and actress Dakota Johnson (34) are said to have gotten engaged “a while ago”. This is now reported by the “Mirror”, citing an unnamed source. “They were in love with each other from day one, so the next step was inevitable,” the informant is quoted as saying. And further: “They are in no hurry to plan the wedding, but are simply enjoying making their engagement official.”
The couple kept a low profile about their romance from the start. Engagement rumors had already surfaced in 2020 after Johnson was photographed wearing a large emerald ring. On the pictures, which “Page Six” published at the time, Johnson is seen with the sparkling green stone. The snapshots come from a shopping trip in West Hollywood, as the New York Post’s celebrity page wrote.
In October 2021, the singer made a public declaration of love for his loved one. On a user’s Instagram video an excerpt from a Coldplay concert can be seen. In it, Chris Martin points to the seat where Dakota Johnson is sitting: “This is about my universe – and she’s here!” he said before the band started playing the song “My Universe”.
Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin are said to have met through mutual friends. They were first seen together in 2017, a year after the musician’s divorce from US actress Gwyneth Paltrow (51).
In patchwork happiness
The British musician is said to already have the blessing of his ex-wife and their two children Apple (19) and Moses (17). Paltrow and Johnson also seem to get along really well. At the “Gucci Love Parade”, a fashion show on the famous Walk of Fame, The two actresses appeared together beaming with joy in November 2021.
And this wasn’t the first time that the two women demonstrated how well they get along. In October 2019 the actress wished her colleague on Instagram Happy 30th birthday and described her as a “real sweetheart”. “I love her”, Paltrow also explained to “Harper’s Bazaar” in January 2020, as she talked about Johnson. “I can understand how strange that might seem because it’s kind of unconventional.”
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin married in December 2003. They announced their separation in March 2014 and divorced in 2016. Paltrow is now married to TV producer Brad Falchuk (53). All sides regularly emphasize the great patchwork luck.
