After the headlines surrounding Til Schweiger, his ex-wife Dana Schweiger has spoken out. This is what the mother of his children said.
Dana Schweiger (56) has in an interview with the “Gala” magazine (also on RTL+) about her family. The American and the German film star Til Schweiger (60) got married in 1995. They separated in 2005 and have been officially divorced since 2014. They have four children together: Valentin (28), Luna (27), Lilli (26) and Emma (21). After the negative headlines surrounding her ex-husband in recent months, Dana Schweiger emphasised family solidarity in the conversation.
“This is my family. I chose him as the father of my children and he is a really great father,” she explains. “I think when you are older – I am 55 now – you are a bit more mature and not so focused on yourself.” As parents, you bring your children into this world, so it is important “that we take a back seat and put the children first. This is my family, and it will always be that way.” They are “a colorful family, but also a completely normal family with ups and downs. It can be super fun, but it can also get heated sometimes. I think that is healthy,” says Dana Schweiger.
After the entrepreneur and author has spent the last few years looking after her children, who have now grown up, she now wants to focus on herself and find herself again. Her rediscovered passions include “fashion, interior design and a slight affinity for vintage cars,” as she reveals in the interview.
Dana Schweiger: What is her relationship status?
And how is her love life? “I don’t know anything about this dating world. I had one or two dates after the divorce, it was so foreign to me. It didn’t feel natural.” She prefers to concentrate on her “girl gang” and have fun with her friends. But Schweiger still reveals that there is someone in her life with whom she is currently spending a lot of time. “Status: It’s complicated. You can’t define it like that and I don’t want to.”
She finally reveals that she will always remember a particular flirtation from her past. None other than Brad Pitt (60) approached her at a gas station and chatted with her about her car and her sweater. “I was young and pretty then,” says Schweiger, who had no idea about her celebrity encounter. “I didn’t know who it was. I was always in Germany at the time and didn’t notice the Brad Pitt hype. There were no cell phones back then.”
