Things have already happened in this 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. We think in particular of the strong gesture of Judith Godrèche with her children. Yesterday was the launch of this second week of competition, before the Palme d’Or is awarded next Saturday. On the program was the screening of The Apprenticea film centered on Donald Trump, and that of Shroudsa science fiction thriller by David Cronenberg.

This Tuesday, another film in competition for the Palme d’Or was presented, namely Marcello Mio by Christophe Honoré. A comedy full of self-deprecation, in which Chiara Mastroianni plays herself, like her mother Catherine Deneuve and her exes Benjamin Biolay and Melvil Poupaud.
What we also expected, at the same time, was the projection of Thread (Special Sessions selection), a film by Daniel Auteuil, which is described as follows on the festival website: “Since he exonerated a repeat murderer, Maître Jean Monier played by Daniel Auteuil, no longer takes criminal cases. The meeting with Nicolas Milik played by Grégory Gadebois from the French comedy, a father accused of the murder of his wife, touches him and shakes his certainties. This feature film was produced by Nelly, the daughter of Daniel Auteuil and Emmanuelle Béart. We then awaited the first appearance of the young woman on the Croisette, probably in the company of her father, and perhaps even her mother. Was this the case?
