Daniel Radcliffe will not re-enlist for the adaptation of “Harry Potter and the cursed child” to the cinema

Daniel Radcliffe has no plans to wear Harry Potter’s round glasses again in the near future. However, it does not close the door to a project in several years.

While a hypothetical cinematographic adaptation of the play “Harry Potter and the cursed child” has been running since last fall, without having been confirmed, Daniel Radcliffe spoke about a potential return in front of the camera in this role. In an interview with the New York Post, relayed by Variety, the 32-year-old actor let it be known that he did not intend to put on the costume that made him famous again. It’s “not something that really interests me at the moment,” explained the 30-year-old.

Although the actor participated with Emma Watson and Rupert Grint in the anniversary episode “Return to Hogwarts” with pleasure, Harry Potter is no longer a part of his life. Aware that his answer will make people disappointed, he explained: “It’s not the answer everyone expects, but I think I was able to go back and enjoy it because it’s no longer part of my everyday life”.

After having camped the little wizard with the rebellious wick from 2001 and until 2011, the actor moved on to something else. “I’m getting to a point where I feel like I’ve made it out of ‘Potter’ and I’m really happy with where I am today, and going back there would be a drastic change in my life,” he specified.

Never say never”

Philosopher, Daniel Radcliffe, however, has not definitively ruled out a return to the costume of Voldemort’s adversary. Time plays for the fans. Referring to the ‘Star Wars’ actors, who took on their roles again decades later, he explained: ‘I would never say ‘never’, but the ‘Star Wars’ guys had waited about 30, 40 years before to come back. For me, it’s only been 10 years.” The last part of the saga was released in theaters in 2011.

For his part, Rupert Grint had let him know in January, during an interview with “Good morning Britain”, that he could be tempted to participate in this film adaptation, issuing a condition: that the trio reform . It’s not for now, if we are to believe Daniel Radcliffe. Another unknown remains. Will the adaptation of “Harry Potter the cursed child” see the light of day?
