“If you think it can’t get any worse – then your parents will separate.” With these words, Daniela Katzenberger (36) starts the episode of her show, which, based on the headlines after the jungle camp, should interest the public the most.

The cheating scandal surrounding Iris Klein’s (56) husband Peter (56) was “a small war, really big,” says the blonde in “Daniela Katzenberger – Familienglück auf Mallorca” (Wednesdays, 8:15 p.m., RTLzwei). Iris Klein reports that she found out from the media “that he had a new one” – and how much that would have affected her after almost 20 years of marriage: “You’ll lose faith. You’ll lose it, if it there is any true love at all.” The shock is deep in everyone’s bones, explains Daniela: “The whole family has broken up. I no longer have a father, Sophia no longer has a grandfather, Lucas no longer has a father-in-law, my mother no longer has a husband.”

Shock for the cat: Mama Iris wants to go back to Germany

Every day the cat visits its mother in the difficult time of lovesickness. Over coffee in the kitchen, the reasons for Peter Klein’s behavior are sought. Daniela wants to see clear signs of a midlife crisis, Iris remembers that he had “written with other women all day” before the camp. In the future, the family is likely to be even more torn apart – at least in terms of space. Iris proposes to her daughter that she wants to leave Mallorca and move back to Germany.

Next, a supposedly simpler problem has to be solved: Daniela and Lucas Cordalis (55) have to find a compromise for their new kitchen. He has wanted an open kitchen for a year, but the cat remains constant: “I just keep discussing until he doesn’t feel like it anymore. You have to proceed systematically.” The attrition tactic works, the compromise is: the wall stays in, Lucas gets a dining area instead.

The drama with the choreography

Daniela Katzenberger is also facing a professional challenge again: the music video for her first solo song is to be shot. For this, the cat has to learn a choreography. Her husband suspects that this will not end well: “My wife gives the word diva a very special, personal touch because she never conforms. […] It will never follow a choreography, have fun dancers.”

And Lucas knows his wife very well: In the dance studio, Katzenberger tries out the dance under supervision, but with little motivation to learn. From the start she is convinced that she doesn’t look good doing it and eventually breaks off. “Can we go please? […] I feel uncomfortable, like at the gynecologist.” At least the producer shows understanding: the cat can think for itself how it wants to design its video.

Shortly before the shoot, the cat again suffers from great excitement – including insomnia, spontaneous pimples and flatulence. Daughter Sophia and husband Lucas do everything to take away the excitement from mom. The shoot finally takes place in a pink studio with lots of Katzenberger paraphernalia. There is a pink ball pit, vanity table, pink popcorn and so on. Daniela’s self-doubt gives everything: “If you hang gold on a donkey, it’s still a donkey.” She also hates the first shots – the pants are bulky, the shadows are wrinkled… But after a thawing period, the cat finally enjoys the shoot and performs in her own pink world as if she had never done anything else.
